Towards the end of the year....

Well, a lot has happened since my last entry. sad, happy and everything else mulled together. recently i read through all the entries that i have here in this blog and remembered on all the things that has happened in the year 2007. not bad but it can be better obviously. but shukran ya allah, for the blessings and for giving me this life.

i went back to Ktn for eid aidiladha as well as the christmas hols. one week of absolute leisure and eating frenzy thanks to my mom's cooking ;-)

somehow, deep within all the fun and excitement that i had in the arms of my family, i cant help but think that at the same time, that raya/eid celebrations for me and my family as well as some significant others which are in the same boat as i am can actually seems to aggravate the existing pain of not having the love ones with you to celebrate these few significant days which we have in a year. rayas, birthday, new year, fathers day, mothers days, family days, etc. love ones who have migrated, away for some reasons or another or has left us to be with the mighty God.

i dont know, somehow at this moment of time, it really hurts not to have someone that you love close to you. i guess its really painful not to have that for like 16 years now and more years to come.

i know sumtimes people can be selfish and i was kindly reminded that things happened for a reasons as well. i know that there are times when we think things are okay but indeed they are not.

i wish some people would think that love to their parents would be an enough reason to be close to them. true, there are many ways to show our parents of how much we love them. but i know for a fact that money really cannot buy a love between parents and their kids. the love that the parents have for their kids are priceless and without conditions. i believe that. i believe in that idea.

i think my world would collapse if i loose either my mom or my dad. i pray that that day would never have to come.

true we have our own lives to lead. true we have our own decision to make. but do we before any decision is made, ever try to think the effect that its gonna have to our parents? separation is hard. maybe its okay if its for a shortwhile. but it is a heartache when the separations has lasted for awhile.

i am trying to make things the best that i can. i am trying to fill in the gap that was vacated for 16 years. i wish i could do better. i really do as seeing sadness in my parents eyes kills me each time when the eid comes. i wish that would be enough for my parents for now.

i guess what we can learn from this is that there are things that we cannot change though we pray and cried so hard for it to change for the better. and also it is best to cherish the moments that we have spending time with the loves one as we never know when that moment may not come as often as we want it to be or it may leave us sooner than we think.

Monday blues...

Firedrill. Backpain. Lost. and it is just monday to begin with.

Singapore's Hady Mirza wins first Asian Idol contest

JAKARTA, Indonesia : Singapore's Hady Mirza has been crowned the region's first singing champion at the inaugural Asian Idol competition in Jakarta on Sunday.

Hady defeated five other Idol winners from India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam.

The show was hosted by RCTI - Indonesia's largest TV network.

Voting via text messaging began when it was televised simultaneously to all six participating countries, with an unprecedented millions of viewers.

Hady Mirza, Singapore Idol Season 2 winner, earlier said: "The pressure, I think, is that it's going to be shown across six countries. I started off being quite nervous. But then, as we went along, it was fine and I did pretty well. I think I did pretty well and I'm happy with my performance."

To ensure fairness, judges were drawn from the six countries taking part in the competition.

Even a voting system to neutralise the numerical supremacy of big countries such as Indonesia and India was instituted. Votes were not considered valid unless the sender picks two singers.

But above all, organisers said Asian Idol was more than just a competition.

Indriena Basarah, General Manager of Fremantle Asia, said: "What we would like to do is actually to showcase that Asia has incredible talent."

For the contestants, the Asian Idol competition gave them the exposure beyond their own national boundaries.

Clip from Singapore News

THE announcement of the winner took me by great suprise. i really thought that the Indonesian Idol would win considering that Indonesia is a big country and the concert was held at his own turf. i guess at the end of the day Asian Idol still is a popularity contest where it helps to have the whole packege and what not.

but nevertheless, congratulations! at the end of the day, all the 6 idols are already winners in their own right. vamos!

You never know when your guardian angel will be there for you so I have to try...

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person..
When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support,
to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons,
things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson,
love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life,
whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.

THanks Mr. A for sending me this.

Lee Chong Wei (Mas) v Lin Dan (China)-HK Super Series 2007

I WATCHED the game yesterday life on TV1. all i can say is that Lin Dan is not the World No.1 in badminton for nothing, he is such a versatile player. however, when Lee Chong Wei won the first set i was ecstatic!

come 2nd set and it was excrutiating. by the first ten minutes of the 3rd set - i knew that Lin Dan will come out as the winner, which he did.

i am of the view that Lee Chong Wei, World No 2 is such a promising player. but he should be more focus and must have the self determination and confidence that he too can be the No.1. he always would have my support! aja aja Lee Chong Wei!!!!

Looking forward to all the games next year, especially the Olympics.

Three paratroopers killed during mock exercise

LANGKAWI, MALAYSIA: Three army paratroopers, including two women, from an elite army commando unit were killed and five others seriously injured when a mock exercise to seize the international airport at Padang Matsirat here went awry.

Erratic wind patterns during the exercise blew 18 paratroopers off course – some of them plunged into the sea 30m off the airport's runway while others landed hard on the tarmac.

Hard landing: Some of the paratroopers landed hard on the Langkawi airport tarmac while some others landed in the sea due to strong winds during the mock exercise which went awry yesterday. — G.C. TAN / The Star

Langkawi OCPD Supt Mohamad Ali Jamaluddin said the dead were identified as Trooper Raimond Duncan, 25, from Simunjan, Sarawak; Private Nurul Wahida Yunos, 20, from Tanjung Malim, Perak; and Ranger Siti Hajar Yakub, 24, from Masjid Tanah, Malacca.

The exercise, carried out yesterday morning, was a full-dress rehearsal for the opening ceremony of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (Lima) 2007 exhibition, which begins here tomorrow.

The incident occurred shortly after the paratroopers, all from the 10th Brigade Para based at Terendak Camp, Malacca, jumped out of two planes at an altitude of 4,000m at 10.30am.

Army chief Jen Tan Sri Muhammad Ismail Jamaluddin said the paratroopers had jumped from the aircraft within the wind speed tolerance allowed.

“According to the standard operating procedure (SOP), paratroopers should not jump when the wind speed is above 11 knots. However, the wind speed at the point of incident was eight knots. I’d never allow my soldiers to jump if it had been above the acceptable wind speed,” he said.

Helping hand: One of the paratroopers being freed after his parachute got caught on a plane at the Langkawi airport tarmac yesterday.
Supt Mohamad Ali said some of the soldiers were rescued by fishermen who were fishing in the area while the police and other rescue agencies, including the army, launched a search and rescue operation when they realised that some of the soldiers had landed in the water.

Siti Hajar drowned while Duncan and Nurul Wahida died at the Langkawi Hospital. It is learnt that the three dead paratroopers were entangled by their parachute cords.

A source told The Star that the army dive master stopped 22 other paratroopers from jumping after they realised that the situation was unsafe.

The source said 11 paratroopers were injured in the incident including several who landed hard on the tarmac and had their parachutes dragged by the strong wind.

At least three soldiers were injured after they landed on top of aircraft parked on the tarmac for the Lima exhibition.

The soldiers were taken to the hospital by ambulances on standby at the airport.

Royal Malaysian Air Force public relations officer Mej Zulkiflee Abdul Latiff said the accident occurred due to uncertain wind conditions.

He said the paratroopers were part of 138 men and women who were involved in the mock exercise.

AL-FATIHAH... May they rest in peace. To those who are recovering, semoga cepat sembuh god willing.

Geu Deh Ji Geum (eng and korean subs)-Full House

This is indeed my favourite song in the whole of great songs in Full House. it makes me feel that all love is possible if one could give it a chance and to learn to open up themselves to be loved and to love another. i can listen to this forever!

Could Full House No. 2 beat the songs as well as the success and popularity?

My vote: NO

My wish it can be as close tho, cant wait!!!

Life....

What a difference a sad event in someone's life makes.
GEORGE CARLIN (His wife recently died...)

Isn't it amazing that George Carlin - comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent...and so very appropriate.

A Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too reckl essly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

SO HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND READERS!!!! TAKE CARE! DONT DRINK AND DRIVE!

Love pills....

"Dance like nobody's watching; love like you've never been hurt. Sing like nobody's listening; live like it's heaven on earth."-Mark Twain

I have always love the above quote. i think it is sweet. i think the deeper meaning to it is that you do what you want to do. You do things that you want even other people might think it is childish, a waste of time or out of the norm. Despite your failures or hardship in life, you should live this short life to the fullest. Do feel free to do what your heart desires and enjoy this life as it is..Be free, be you. This life is always about you first.

On the other hand, a colleague of mine shared her love failure story recently saying that she couldnt sleep and have to take pills and stuff like that, easily put -emosional breakdown. she is 21. my advice- think about you first, be sad and cry you the river, but then get up, see the people and the world around you, and your problem will soon be smaller that you think. you are young and you have the world in front of u. gosh 21!!!!

i guess in life people have their own story to tell when it comes into love. i bet you, 1000 people you meet in life, there will be 1000 different stories that can be told. that is the best part of it.

they say its easy to find love and relationship, but it is a whole other story to keep it. i agree.

thus, we have to compromise. love needs trust and patience and the whole 1000 small packages and requirements that comes along with it. its really tough i must say. but i believe people can change and people do change. but if there is no more love then why do we have to linger and be hurt and expecting our partner to keep loving us just because he or she is the other half.

life is short, say what you want to say and lets that be it. told my colleague she is better off whithout his ex anyway as simple quotation in life is-if it is meant to be, then it is meant to be.

should we be complacent and rely on that forever?

Salute to the badminton queen

CONGRATULATIONS to Wong Mew Choo for winning the China Open. The win is more significant in that she beat three top Chinese shuttlers in the 'Dragon's Den'!
(taken from the Star news)

After work...

I am starting to think that my job is a curse. nope! let me rephrase. i am starting to think that the location of my current job is actually a curse. i was at Pavillion at lunch, spending one and a half hours walking and browsing and i end up with two shopping bags. i didnt even had my lunch! have to come back to my office just in case my boss required me to email him sumthing as he is out of town, as he always is!

seems that the GSC movie theatre has officially open, right to the next RedBox karaoke, looking very posh. yayayyaya, i didnt realised it myself but on my way to the new Nike store, i saw it...can smell the popcorn and stuff, yums! And..the Nike store at pavillion-superb. lots of choices and its together with the casual nikewear. and there is a big poster of Nadal nearby the men's section, love!!!! i wanted to go in Adidas, but am afraid that the chatty adik will come and chat with me and i can lost 20 mins valuable shopping times just talking abt the weather ;-) bless him tho, he is very friendly!

after work at 7, i was like, ummmmm should i go home or should i go to Pavillion again (as there are certain shops that i didnt manage to visit during lunch)?oh well. off i go walking while clutching my black shining big handbag tightly as i am afraid to get snatched in Bukit Bintang area. managed to get there safely and i continue browsing around....lalalalla...aha!!! La Senza seems to have many red and black stuff to celebrate the festive christmas...ummmm...nice! went in and 20 mins later im clutching another shopping bag! help!

left about 9pm, by then my legs are killing me and i wish i can lie down in my bed.

however, i think my day was a fruitful one too. i was browsing thru at the watches section and found this. pls wat do u think, which one is nicer?

Happy Birthday MAF

To M,

Happy Happy Birthday dear! How old are you now? 25? 30? 35? Though I have not seen you for a while now but always this period of time each year, my thoughts will go to you, to the times that we have spent together. End of the year, always the hardest, as time goes by, remembering as life was so hectic by Nov/Dec back then. Months of events; your birthday, then come Christmas then come the big New Year celebration. Remembering the time when you gave me a christmas present, our walk in the park during winter where all things were white and the snow falling down from the sky seemed so beautiful and on the trips that we had during christmas holidays.

Saw your message in my Friendster yesterday. When was the last time we chatted? Maybe 5 or 6 months ago eh? Am glad that we are still friends up till this time. Really, I still want to go there for a visit, dont get me wrong and to be honest, the money and the timing, well they are just excuses. The real reason was maybe I was afraid. Afraid that everything that I would see still remembers me of you. The places that we went, the streets, the shops that we used to frequent, even to some corners of London where we used to have a laugh. Afraid that what you told me before was true. Afraid that remembering what is familiar would be harder to forget, in the present.

Watched Sex in the City and they talked about the past and the present. I think it is okay to remember the past but one has to live in the present. The past makes what we are today. People do get separated by time, but always we can look back once in a while to the good old times and remember the good old days. Sometimes, I listen to our cd, remember? the one that 'The Way We Were' song was in it and remembers..ahhhh, the good old days...the good old days...

So to mark this joyous ocassion, I will definitely salute a toast to you from million miles away and wishing you all the happiness in the world. The old wisemen once said and He was right indeed, 'though a man and a woman who loves each other are apart and are not together for any reason or another, the next best thing that you can do is to wish all the happiness and the blessings in the world to each other at all times'.

So Happy Birthday again love, heartiest congratulations to you and Ms. C, and may all your wishes come true.

Always love,
PO
22nd November 2007

"You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. you yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection." -Buddha

Love this song...

To me it was love...

Another fav MV from Rain....

Bummer...

I was on the treadmill when the tennis match between Nadal and Ferrer start off yesterday. my jam class has started i know, but i couldnt resist to watch the first game at least....

seems that Nadal was in a good shape. go nadal go!!!

left the treadmill for jam class as Tony was in instead of Juwita. in the middle of it i went out just to check on the progress...yayyayayaay nadal leading and won the first set, things was surely looking good desptie i walked in the rain to the gym just now.

so i happily continued my jam class. straight after the warming down, went to the tele and gosh!!! oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ferrer is leading in the second set with nadal closely trying to get break points. me swearing silently. nadal forehand was everywhere and too many unforced errors. but still looking good on the court i can see ;-)

when ferrer won the second set i left the gym with a frustration and dissapointment intact.

reached home and ferrer was leading 5 to 3. okay!!!!! me have no more hope.

looking forward to nadal's next game....

SEX AND THE CITY

i am doing the rerun on the whole season of Sex and the City. i finished season 5 yesterday and i have one more season to go.

love love love the series.

come to think of all the characters, i am bits and pieces of all the characters..i would take care of a fren's baby (tho i have no idea how) just like samantha and i would gv up my hair cut appointment if that makes someone's happy, or if my fren would need it more desperately than i do.

i am like charlotte when it comes to marriage. i look highly on the idea and sanctity of marriage. and i am like her when it comes to Harry. even that she has the idea of what type of men that she wants to end up with, but she manage to make room for Harry which is the total opposite of her dream guy.

i am carrie when i look at men, evaluating them and asking questions. the difference? only that she managed to express it well in writing when i am totally okay of just keeping it to myself or at the privy of only the closest frens.

when it comes to miranda, im sceptical to a certain point only, but i think i would take up the challenge and try sumthing new eventhough it scares me, like having a baby.

what about u? what is your character?

Federer's lost...

Gonzalez grit makes Federer look mortal
By Paul Alexander in Shanghai
Published: 13 November 2007
Roger Federer lost consecutive matches for the first time in four and a half years yesterday when he was beaten here by Fernando Gonzalez, of Chile, at the season-ending Masters Cup for the world's top eight players.

Federer, the top seed, had beaten Gonzalez, the No 7 seed, in 10 previous meetings, but lost 3-6, 7-6, 7-5. "It was a tough defeat," the Swiss world No 1 said. "I thought I played pretty good. I wish I had an excuse.

"I thought it was ridiculous some of the shots he was coming up with," Federer added, a baseball cap pulled down over his eyes.

"I can't do much when he drills that incredible forehand in the corner. I wish I had an excuse but I just lost the tie-break in a bad way and never got the edge in the third set."

A jubilant Gonzalez said: "I have really a lot of motivation. After 10 matches, it's my turn now. I think the key of the match was my serve and don't be scared to go for my shots. That was really important."

Federer had appeared to be in control of the Red Group match after taking the opening set, but he lost his temper after Gonzalez ripped through the second-set tie-break 7-1. The 12-times Grand Slam champion vented his fury at the umpire on returning to his chair and his mood darkened further in the third set. His frustration grew as Gonzalez saved five break points on his way to victory.

Federer won three Grand Slam titles in 2007 and has already clinched the No 1 ranking for the fourth straight year. But he has been vulnerable over the past month, falling twice to the ninth-ranked David Nalbandian, first in Madrid, then in the third round at Paris, his last match before meeting Gonzalez here.

The last time Federer lost two matches in a row was in 2003 when he fell in the third round at Hamburg, then in the first round at the French Open. Yet if he beats Andy Roddick and Nikolay Davydenko here, he should reach the semi-finals.

I watched the game yesterday and I think Gonzales played very well and the sharp shots that he made was just amazing!

hope Nadal can make it to the finals!!!!!

The Outing..

(Thursday, 8th November, Deepavali Day)

RING RING...(Ring tone: Full House song)

my phone is ringing, it is thursday.

Me: Helo...(still sleeping by the way)

MBF: Babe, are u awake?

Me: no...eeerrr (then it dawned on me...shit!!!) okay, im getting ready!

hang up and look at my mobile...shit, 10.50am! my date with MBF is at 11am. then saw there is a sms at 10 sumthing from MBF...shit shit shit...hit the shower and i just wear watever that i can grab. hahahahha! shit...

am late...as usual...damn...

managed to get ready in a split second. MBF as usual, picked me up from home. (LOVE U LOTS MBF)...we went to LA Bodega to have our brunch. i havent done this like forever. the last time i think was with MBF and MBA. ages ago...really..due to work and raya hols, i havent got the chance to spent really quality gurl time with my boo.

so we played scrabble while having our english breakfast.

seriously, how come "E W O K" is non-existent? it is a starwars character...helow!!!
MBF beat me by 20 points...i let her win eh??? hahahahahahhah! better luck next time for me!

adjourned to Cat Whiskers boutique right across where we were. browsing browsing browsing then bumped into Ms O with her dear hubby. after an hour or so, i managed to get myself a handbag, a nice top for work and a pair of silver hoops earrings that i dont need ..thanks to the gorgeous lady that worked at the cashier with her 10% thing for 3 items that one purchased..okay okay!!! *SIGH* but love my handbag! ;-)

Ms O, being 3 months pregnant, suddenly craved for Baskin Robbins. off we go to the nearest outlets and had our chat there as well. by the time we finished, its nearly half past 4.

next venue, the Gardens. parking-a nightmare. the rest, is quite okay. the food there really u can give it a miss. the shops there, i would prefer pavillion anytime, however, i love robinsons, i think its great. however, i managed not to get anything ;-)

Mr. T and Mr H decided to join us later on. Had dinner then we proceeded to Starbucks to meet up with Mr C and wifey and son and Ms O and hubby as well which much later were joined by Mr Z and the ever lovely Mr. D.

I had a great time. Definitely looking forward to to my next outing with MBF.

but how come this lovely and lively spirit was dampen by a certain Mr A on the Whitney Houston event in Malaysia? ummm...........siap u!

Chicago The Musical...

WENT to see 'Chicago the Musical' last Wednesday at Plenary Hall, KL Convention Centre. I was contemplating of where to park the car, whether at KLCC or at the convention centre itself. then of course, thinking that i havent been walking down the malls at klcc for some time since the opening of Pavillion, i straight on drove to kia peng street and park at klcc Suria to be exact.

arrived at the concourse, and as usual klcc are filled with people. my first shop as usual was Zara. while looking at the clothes, suddely sumone called be from behind...aaahhh, it is Ms R from gym...i havent seen her at the gym but we often bumped accidently into each other. i envy her, despite freezing her membership for months and months at the gym, she managed to stay slim as it is, i think she wears like size 4 or 6...damn...she as usual, as nice as ever. we chatted for a mere 5 minutes before she politely excused herself.

after then i resume my shopping to MNG...ummm...boring boring boring...then suddenly, again sumone is calling me from behind ...ahhhh its Mrs F, nearly 8/9 months pregnant with her first child...she looks blossomly pregnant and happy..we chatted abt ten mins or so and was interrupted by a call from my colleague who was impatiently waiting for me for a cocktail at kl convention. *SIGH*

so i walk towards kl convention. met my colleague Mrs L and then later on MS S. i ate the food there like eating dinner. the food was interesting, that i can say..

later at 8pm the musical started. overall, i found it quite entertaining...12 dancers on the stage. the actors are all good, so Broadway! me love love love, the white feathers, the musical is okay...i love musical. but i think i enjoyed "My Fair Lady" more. but still, i enjoyed my nite...left there about 10.30 or so.

after that, went to see MBA and Mr K and MBF. MBA is flying off to Bali so i stop by to say helo and bon voyage.

reached home and feeling tired, but i definitely had a good nite. looking forward to my outing with MBF to Bangsar and the Gardens the next day, yay!

MALAYSIA BOLEH!

By William Atkins
Tuesday, 09 October 2007
International Space Station Expedition 16 crew members Whitson, Malenchenko, and Shukor are ready to liftoff from a Soyuz-FG rocket on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

The crew consists of American astronaut Peggy Whitson, Russian cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko, and Malaysian space tourist Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor.

They are scheduled to arrive at the International Space Station (ISS) two days later, on October 12. The ISS Expedition 16 mission will last until the spring of 2008.

Peggy Whitson is the commander of the Expedition 16 crew, while Yuri Malenchendo is its flight engineer and the Soyuz TMA-11 spacecraft commander. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor is a spaceflight participant from Malaysia.

Whitson will become the first woman commander of the space station. Previously, she was a member of the Expedition 5 crew, having served onboard the ISS from June 7 to December 7, 2002. During her stay she installed micrometeoroid shielding on the Russian Zvezda Service Module and activated the Microgravity Sciences Glovebox. She was also named the first NASA Science Officer while her stay onboard the station. She conducted 21 experiments in human life sciences and microgravity sciences while on the mission.

Malenchendo was the commander of the ISS Expedition 7 crew in 2003. He was also a mission specialist for STS-106 in 2000 and commanded the Mir 16 mission in 1996.

During his twelve-day stay at the station, Shukor will not just be a space tourist but will also have the job of studying the effects of microgravity (what is commonly called zero-gravity) and space radiation on microbes. A possible vaccine for HIV will also be studied.

NASA astronaut Daniel M. Tani, another member of the Expedition 16 crew will arrive at the ISS on STS-120 aboard space shuttle Discovery. Tani will be a flight engineer for the mission. STS-120 is scheduled to liftoff from the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida on October 23, 2007. Tani will replace Expedition 15/16 flight engineer and NASA astronaut Clayton Anderson, who will return with the STS-120 crew.

European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Léopold Eyharts will become a member of the Expedition 16 crew when he arrives aboard space shuttle Atlantis on mission STS-122. December 6, 2007 is the scheduled liftoff day of the mission from the NASA launch facility in Florida. Tani will return to Earth when Atlantis leaves the space station after completing its assembly mission.

NASA astronaut Garrett E. Reisman will fly to the space station onboard space shuttle Endeavour on STS-123, becoming a flight engineer for the Expedition 16 mission, and will stay onboard to become a member of the ISS Expedition 17 crew. STS-123 is scheduled to be launched on February 14, 2008.

Love Love Love...To You by Rain

love love this! you to me are everything in Malay!!!!

Another fav of mine...

Lagu Raya

Three Days to GO!

LAST week of ramadhan...time flies...3 days to go. Balik Kampung? the day after tomorrow. looking forward to break the fast on thursday and friday with 'the family'. cant wait!

saturday, raya? well, raya venue is still undecided between me, my dad and my mom. *SIGH* looking forward to all the rendang ketupat and kuih dan muih. have already finished some of my pineapple tarts!!! love them ! yums!

on the other hand, somehow, i think yesterday was the Lailatul Qadr.

"On the Night of Power (Lailatul Qadr) pray to God with all your heart and He will definitely answer all your prayers. The Quran says : "Surely We revealed it (the Holy Quran) on the grand night. And what will make you comprehend what the grand night. The grand night is better than a thousand months. The angels and Gibreel descend in it by the permission of their Lord for every affair, Peace! It is till the break of the morning." (97:1-5)

The Night of Power is full of blessings because the Eminent Quran descended in it. The Quran is peace by itself. It distinguishes between the good and evil and shows the path of eternal Peace and Bliss to all Mankind forever. This being so, the Night in which this Divine Book was sent down is worthy of great esteem. During this night, as explained in the verse quoted above, the Angels and the Heavenly spirit (Hazrat Gibreel Alai-his-Salam) descend. Their nearness to earth gives a spiritual luster to the hearts and souls of the believers. The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) and the 12 Imams (A.S.) passed this night in prayer and worship of God
."

RAiny Day...

After completing filming the Hollywood movie Speed Racer, Rain is determined to march firmly into Europe and America, and will take charge of his English in the beginning of November when he flies to the US.

Rain's representing company announced that he will officially go to the US in the beginning of November, and will first fly from city to city such as New York, Los Angeles and Chicago to visit and travel. Rain, who is now independently supporting himself and working on his own, will personally choose the school where he would study English as well as his living environment. His stop in the US is not only to enhance his English abilities, but also to enable him to have nearby local corporate discussions with record company(s), publishing house(s) and so on. Rain will use Speed Racer as the 1st step towards his official march into Europe and America. He will wait till the worldwide screening of the movie next year in May and will make use of this favorable situation to launch a full-scale development. The length of Rain's time in the US has yet to be determined. Prior to departure, the Shanghai concert held the day before yesterday and the Daegu concert to be held on the 27th as part of his appointment as ambassador for the Daegu World Athletics Championship, are his 2 final large-scale performances before his big move overseas.

Words certainly cannot describe how much i miss u!

Current News

BEYONCE had cancelled her concert here in Malaysia due to 'attire' issues...urggghhh!!!! i wana go!!!!!!! but to jakarta instead? hmmmmm...come on, Mariah Carey reluctantly agreed and at the end, she did 'compromise'...the concert was good despite her wearing jeans and no skimpy clothing that nite. i guess for some artist, the attire is more important than having to meet your fans who has been supporting you and stuff...well i dont know...

the J.CO at pavillion, the same has been commented on "Street" section of the NST today. yummy..should i go and get some after work? *SIGH* im nowhere near my diet regime. absolutely NOWHERE!!!

ASTRO has updated from single and 2 numbers to 3 numbers. wat the H***!!!! after so long using the old numbers, remembering the numbers seems such a torture. however, i think a week should do it ;-) fighting!

i was flipping through my astro guide, seems that there are new channels and then wala!!! KBS WORLD??? OMG!!!! about bloody time!!! yayayay!!! i nearly jumped out of my bed!!! seriously? seriously??? finally i know that its worth paying astro that much all this while. bestnya bestnya!!!!!
now channel 303 will be one of my fav channel for sure! araso!

Yu Hee, the Witch

Dennis Oh

I managed to finish the series yesterday. this is the second series of Jae Hee that i watched and i think he is awesome. the first one is My Sassy Girl, CHun Hyang. all i wana say here is that he is certainly a great actor in the making.

Kim Jeong Hoon, what can i say, he portray Prince Yul in Goong Princess Hours. frankly i like him more in Goong compared to this. but he is as cutie as ever.

but on the whole story, i kinda dissapointed as it kinda lost the plot towards the end, too much unnecessary scenes and seriously i dont know, i kinda wish that it can be more interesting than that. the soundtrack is so so, can do lor. but overall thank god for the eye candy as the story is kinda like dragging starting from the middle towards the ending, omg!!! let me not tell you my frustration! but Dennis Oh, all i can say, OH MY GOD!!!! forget watever, but dennis is as cute as Daniel Henney.
so who cares if the story sucks?

Cinta Pertama

WATCHED it at MBA's place last Saturday, after 'potong cake' ceremony. The story start from a big secret revealed before the wedding day of Abi (Richard Kevin) and Alya (Bunga Citra Lestari). Abi finds Alya’s diary and discovery that Alya got brain cancer. Beside that, She still in love with her High School’s friend, Sunny (Ben Joshua). When Alya is in comma caused of cancer, Abi intended to find Sunny and ask him to meet Alya.

Abi finally find Sunny. With Sisi, Sunny’s wife’s permission, Sunny visits Alya. Sunny so touched to see Alya , who was so agile and fun, laying weak and hopeless. What would Sani says and does for Alya? How is the story end?

My personal review on this is that the movie is such a drag. but the cinematography was excellent. the guys in it were hot. but the whole story fail to impress me. i dont feel the love between Alya and Sunny at all. i dont know. i dont feel like i wana watch it again. the scenery was nice, where the part the movie kinda potray autumn kinda scene, dry leaves falls everywhere, a bit of rain scene with the umbrella... tho we know indonesia is like us, no 4 seasons kinda thing.

Actually, the whole scene and the story where Alya blows the flower, and it flies all over the place, the girl being sick and died, it reminded me of this one korean movie, A Millionaire's First Love...sad sad story, omg...i can even cry now by just talking and thinking about it. i cried like few times,... i paste it here so that u guys can see what i mean. love hyun bin in this, so cutie. but the story of the korean movie, way way better than cinta pertama i must say. Mr 3F, u need to watch this and you will understand. prepare some kleenex in advance!

Me...Myself

WATCHED this yesterday with the usual suspects. i actually have mixed reviews on this as i had high expectation on this movie. however, i think it was a bit let down for me. the story is simple, a bit draggy the first hour and managed to pick up the pace abt 20 minutes towards the end. also i wish that 'uncle Tan' impact in the story to oohm and family/work before he regain his memory is subtantial enuff to show the audience that he is significantly invaluable to them and very very special.

Over the weekend

I dont normally read or buy Malay newspaper on weekend as i think it is full of malaysian artists gossips and boring things. however as i was in my home town with my family and my parents bought the pancaindera hiburan yesterday, so i kinda flipped through it while lazying in front of the tele.

and there it was this woman reporter interviewing anuar zain on his new album. gosh! can the reporter leave it alone by now??? one full page of this. ummmm i said this is very very interesting! y not so i read the whole page!!!

honestly, as anuar said, money is not an issue. y if RM100,000.00, salah ker. banyak sangat ker? what if RM500,000.00??? membazir ker? seriously please leave him at that la. doing sumthing that u like cant be rate by money la. and him choosing indonesian composer..hey please dont let me start.

as i have said previously in my earlier entry on Anugerah Era i think, we malaysian, especially the people in the music industry to just wake up and please do sumthing. come on!! an indonesian song won the category for staying the longest in a music chart of a local radio!!! helow!!! y???? an indonesian group and obviously their album were done by indonesians composer and musicians!!!!

and i dont blame them. i also love Samson, i think they have really a good album and the hit song 'kenangan terindah' is definately one of my fav.

and my point is, we cant deny that indonesian composers have a different style and unique song approach and creativity. so, should we support the industry or should we let it die because of where these composers were born is nowhere in the malaysians geography and/or jurisdsction.

sumtimes if i watch melody on sunday at tv3, they showed our local artist got very angry and being vocal to some agents or middle men or entertainment agency who brought in all this too many overseas singers and group to do concerts here. this local artist gone 'amuk' of y we malaysian/government ker are too relax by letting them (oversean singers and talent) to be marketed in our country.

let me tell u all local artist out there, if u are confident that ur music is global enuff to be sold abroad than by all means, please go ahead and spread ur wings! i think our Siti Nurhaliza has done her part. she is big in indonesia, singapore and am sure brunei too. am proud of her. she managed to be recognised and bring her album and music abroad, using i guess both local and indonesian composers...no one say a word on this. no one make an issue.

please la people...i guess it is time to take ur music whenever u want to take it. support our local artist!!! support their album. not condemning them in every way that u could find, re composers, the value of the album, the money the artist spent on each song...y take indonesians composers instead of the locals. ayo!!!! kita masih berada di takuk lama nampaknya. terlalu mempersoalkan benda benda yang remeh.

whoever anuar wants to pick for his album, let him be. am sure he knows wat he is doing and his fans will surely support his decision in this. i am for one. true as he said, doesnt mean that the local composers are not good, y we malaysian always think negative and the other side of the fence, it seriously baffles me till this day.

somtimes we have to wake up and realised that the competition is big.

we should applaud tho those who willing to exceed their limits and boundaries.

again anuar, aja aja fighting!

ANUAR ZAIN

PEOPLE OUT THERE!!!

for anuar zain's fans, this new album is a MUST! for non-anuar zain's fan, maybe its time to get the original new album by him which is self titled this time and listen to it while driving and stuff, u might be the next fan of him...

10 new songs in a package. as an avid fan, after waiting for years for this album, i deserve to make some comments and reviews. also this is my blog and i can just say whatever i want right?

the cover of the album, ummmmm its surely not the best thing that i like abt the album. i dont know y. it just doesnt work for me (in janice dickinson tone). the best pic i think is the pic where anuar on the chair wearing white shirt and jeans in the inlay of the cover laughing away. thats more relax, more natural take of him which i like. simple. nice.

but come to songs.... the best part of it all. i still tak dengar betul2 on 'kau bunga cintaku' and 'jangan pernah lagi' (fast songs) but i think i prefer the fast songs in his previous album more..like 'bila resah'..;-)

for the rest of it, all 8 songs are very very good quality and anuar has managed to bring his singing to the next level i must say. 'hanya milikmu' makes me wana cry everytime i listen to it and the arrangement are superb. 'lelaki ini' is also a good song together with ketulusan hati which many many of my friends have chosen it as a fav.

overall review, it is a must have item for this september 2007 and kudos to anuar zain. its good for his fans especially, after tunggu lama for an album, and the singer can come out with a good album and a quality one at that.

i have transfer all songs to my phone so that i can listen to it whenever..;-)

to anuar zain, a toast for u tonite! hpfully this album would be a success!
